My 1987 LX 5.0 Page

This is the story of the car that others started calling Ghostwolf and how it is now just a Ghost in the Machine, Enjoy.

2010 - 2015 U-87/Zoey

Much has happen in the past 5 years, not so much on the rebuild though. First off, yes I am a Geek and I really like Battlestar Galactica and the spin off Caprica.

With transferring the GHSTWLF plate to the Capri in 2010 the 87 Mustang is not Ghostwolf, and just like Bruce Wayne does not call himself Bruce, I never did call the LX, Ghostwolf. The closest it came to a name was "Victoria".

So when watching Caprica and the revelation the first Cylon was Unit 87 or U-87 it clicked with me that my 87 Mustang should be U-87. Even better with the addition of Zoey after the girl whos "spirit" is locked into the mind of the U-87.

With the slow "re-birth' of the Mustang it is a Ghost in a Machine. Even if no one else follows my line of thought, that is just how it is! Welcome the birth of U-87/Zoey.

Now first a little catching-up on some over due photos.

Pre 2010 I had worked some on the convertible door frameless glass conversion. I installed the T-top extensions I had picked up for the leading and rear edges of the windows.

As you can see these will work towards sealing the window front and rear but I still need to make up a center section for the top, as the T-top cars this is part of the T-top panel and not an add-on.

I am still trying to decide if I should get the T-top or convertible weather seal kit. I am worried that the T-top kit will be 3 separate pieces and I will have an extra potential of a leak at the seams.

Where with the convertible kit it will only be the top and front portion as the rear is sealed by the back window. What might work in my favor though is that the top seal would run across the top of the rear window and might be sufficient and long enough to bring down to seal the rear edge.

With the purchase of the Capri at the start of 2010, most of my "car time" and money has been getting it running and working on it's reliability. I have even taken some parts from the Mustang to improve it.

In 2012 though this assorted collection of parts.......

Finally became the start of a short block assembly.

.030 forged aluminum pistons on a factory crank to become my true 5.0, 306 cid.

GT40P Heads & 1:6 rockers close-up

Currently I am working on the GT40P heads that will go on this motor. Purchasing small cost items that will be needed in the long run

I already have a set of 1:6 roller tip rockers ready to go. Once the heads are on I will get the cam and new lifters.
