2013 - 2014 Is it cold in here or did Hell Freeze Over?

2013 was a pretty uneventful year for the RS, it was mostly just drive and enjoy. 2014 started out the same but near the end of the year I got a little smoke smell and the heater blower quit working.

Digging into the heater controls I found the switch and the plug where both shorted out and I had to replace both.

The one big buy for the Capri in 2014 was a brand new carburetor. The car came with an Edelbrock on it but after sitting for 10 years it had really deteriorated.

I had tried to rebuild it when I first got the car running but it never was quite right, one of the jets on it was so bad you could close it all the way and open it all the way and it made no difference in how the car ran.

Since the Edelbrock was a direct bolt on for the Ford intake I chose to stick with the same type and size the car had on it.

Performance wise it really woke the car up and while no one drives a 5.0 for fuel economy, the new carburetor improved my mileage from a 15 mpg average up to 17.5 mpg, not bad for a car that is over 30 years old.

December of 2014 felt a bit colder than usual and when I pulled into the Walmart parking lot I figured out why.

With the number of running Capris on the endangered species list the odds of see 2 together not at a car show I would guess is very rare.

When I seen this 1985 GS in the parking lot with an open spot next to it I just had to park there and get a few pictures of this rare opportunity. I didn't run into the owner but I do know the car is from Casa Grande because at a later date I seen it parked at a home in town.
